Weber, Karl Heinrich
1834-
Identified with musical work in Russia; born at
Frankenberg, where his father was town musician. From 1846 to 1849 he studied
at Leipsic Conservatory, and in 1866 he went to Moscow as assistant teacher at
the Conservatory, a position which he filled until 1870. Since 1877 he has been
director of the Imperial Russian Musical Society at Saratow. He is the author
of a piano method in Russian and the work entitled Short Sketch of the Present
State of Musical Culture in Russia, also in that language.
