Haddock, George
1824-
Violinist; born at Killingbeck, near Leeds. He studied
violin under Joseph Bywater, at Leeds, in 1846 going to London, where he
studied under Vieuxtemps and Molique. He taught and organized concerts at
Bradford, then went to Leeds, where he became a very popular teacher. He wrote
Popular School for the Violin, and other technical works. His collection of old
violins and violoncellos is very fine.
